In the past
6 months Epsilon Iota has been very active participating
both in University Events as well as being very active in
the community. One event we participated in the Fall
semester was Trashfest 2009 in New Braunsfels. Trashfest
is the gathering of over 400 hundred scuba divers who
collected over 4,000 lbs. out of the Comal River in one
day. Epsilon
Iota, Cans for a Cure, DAN, and many Gulf Coast Texas Dive
Clubs collaborated together to collect, weigh out, and
help judge all of the contests such as, "Most unusual
item."
This past
week we raised over $700 selling hot dogs in the quad with
Alpha Phi Alpha, Texas States largest interracial
fraternity. Our
goal was promote racial unity around campus while working
to raise money for the Haiti victims.
On April
10th we will be hosting an Alumni Golf tournament and
hopefully will raise enough money to make a significant
damper on our house note. The reason why we are working so
hard on raising money because once our house is paid off
our chapter will be able to make a huge leap forward
financially.

had a great time at Province council and will send you
